So I found a few pairs of sun glasses some older some newer and I was wondering if you guys had any tricks on getting the muscles and other lake slime and growth off especially if the object has been down for a while?

Vinegar works pretty good for that kind of stuff. One my hobbies is keeping a reef aquarium and vinegar seems to be about the only safe and effective means of cleaning algae and slime from various plastic surfaces like pumps and tubes etc. Use really warm water and mix as much vinegar as needed. Also, I would say try and keep the found items in a bucket of the lake water you found them in until you are ready to clean them. I don't think it would be mandatory but, might help you avoid erosion of your treasures.

I have a $100.00 + bait caster reel that I found in the lake that I have soaking in water and dish soap. I'm hoping that will work, If not I will try the vinegar and water.
